Thank you for visiting the NHRTL website.   We defend all innocent human life without exception or compromise because a genuine pro-life ethic insists, like the Declaration of Independence, that we are all created equal.   Thus no babies are "expendable" for the sake of convenience or possibly saving other babies.   Some research, some reflection, and some prayer can reveal to you why focused activism is the most compassionate response for mothers in trouble and babies in jeopardy.    Join NHRTL today and learn how our group, led by 15 volunteer trustees, is fighting for the right to life for all.

  • JUMP  STARTING  THE  CAMPAIGN  SEASON

The end of the candidate sign-up period marks the beginning of the campaign season.   There are no primary contests at the gubernatorial level.   For election to NH Governor, Republican pro-lifer and State Representative Jim Coburn of Windham is challenging first term Democratic Gov. John Lynch.   There are many contests for the important positions of Executive Council and State Senate too.  At the NH House level, hundreds of incumbents, including pro-lifers, are facing primary challenges.   A big thank-you to all those who have already or are seeking to serve the public in this capacity.   Pro-lifers like you can be most effective by getting involved with the campaigns of candidates you like early.  Don't let apathy and the summer doldrums interfere with your pro-life activism!

  • REPORT  ON  HB-656  FROM  "THE  WANDERER"

    LAST  MINUTE  PRESS  RELEASE

Despite many NH pro-life groups working against HB656 for months, the so-called "Citizens for Life" group suddenly issued a press release supporting this bad bill at our very last chance to defeat it.   Their effort worked, and we lost by 168 to 165 -- just 3 votes.

  • FAST  &  PRAYER  CAMPAIGN  TO  REVERSE  DOE
Doe v. Bolton, the companion case to Roe v. Wade, will be re-heard in the US Supreme Court on July 31st.    I ask you to join me on an 8 day fast to pray for this ruling to be overturned according to Federal Rule 60, “No longer Just.”    Roe said OK to abortion, Doe said any time for any reason!   You can fast anything:  TV, cake, fast food…it’s between you and God.   I ask you to commit to pray between July 23rd and the 30th.    Each day we will lift up a Planned Parenthood site in NH:

    Sunday

    July 23

    West Lebanon

    Monday

    July 24

    Claremont

    Tuesday

    July 25

    Manchester

    Wednesday

    July 26

    Concord

    Thursday

    July 27

    Keene

    Friday

    July 28

    Derry

    Saturday

    July 29

    Exeter

    Sunday

    July 30

    Portsmouth

These are the eight Planned Parenthood sites in NH.  They either do or refer abortions and always administer birth control which often expels tiny, newly created people, as well as the promotion of promiscuity and STDs.

  • Bishop McCormack
    Announces Opposition
    to HB-656 regarding
    "Do Not Resuscitate Orders"
    and "Living Wills"

Read the Bishop's terrific appeal to the legislators, and the excellent analysis by ethicist Dr. Peter Cataldo on the Diocese website or by this Acrobat Reader PDF file.   The out-of-date, non-amended version of the bill is at this webpage and a very long, albeit misguided, amendment attempt appears a bit more than half-way down this webpage.   PLEASE look up contact info for your legislators at this link, and implore them to stop HB-656 in its tracks -- no amendments are worthwhile.  NHRTL offers a big thank you to the Bishop, Dr. Cataldo, and all motivated pro-lifers working against HB-656.

LETTER  FROM  NHRTL  PRESIDENT  DARLENE  PAWLIK ON  THE  SUPREME  COURT'S  PARENTAL  NOTIFICATION  DECISION

Please think through the news reports and logically consider what Attorney General Kelly Ayotte was asking the Supreme Court to decide in Ayotte vs. PPNNE.   This would provide for a parent or guardian to be notified (not to consent) 48 hours before a minor girl could submit to an abortion.
Please don't let Planned Parenthood deceive you into thinking there would be any danger to girls because of the Parental Notification Statute.   Real Physicians enjoy exemption from liability if they feel their patient is in legitimate jeopardy.   Abortionists would be protected if their pregnant minor patients were in immediate danger.   The law would give parents the opportunity to Parent their own children.   The very thing Planned Parenthood opposes.   The Law also allows for a judicial bypass if the minor girl feels she cannot go to a parent or guardian.
Far too many women have been in silent torment for years ashamed, guilt ridden and plagued with difficulty in decision making, maintaining relationships and holding a job.   Some women have told me they were completely oblivious to the reason.   Many cite drug use, alcoholism, eating disorders and suicidal thoughts after their abortion.   If parents have an opportunity to know why, these behaviors can be dealt with. Armed with the truth, parents can help their daughters cope should they have the typical reaction to abortion.   This will be good for NH girls in the short and the long term.
                                                              Darlene Pawlik
                                                              President, NHRTL

  • LEGISLATION:   HELP   STOP   HB-656 !   This so-called "Right to Die" Legislation could enable EUTHANASIA
Please call your representatives and ask them to vote “NO” on HB656 as soon as possible.  This bill is up for a vote on Wednesday, January 4th.   This is a bill that would encourage death not life.  It has dangerous provisions leaving the “attending physician or nurse” to make a decision for ‘do not resuscitate’ if you are incapable. There are many other problems with this legislation.    THIS IS THE MOST DANGEROUS BILL TO COME OUT OF THIS SESSION AND MUST BE STOPPED!  You can obtain contact info about your State Reps from:   http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/ie/whosmyleg/

  • LEGISLATION:   SUPPORT  HB-1649  THURSDAY,  JAN.  5
This pro-life bill is sponsored by NHRTL Legislative Director and NH State Rep. Kathy Souza, along with former NHRTL President (now NH State Rep.) Barbara Hagan.  HB-1649 adds the term "unborn child" to the definition of "another" for cases of first and second degree murder, manslaughter, and negligent homicide.   You are implored to come to the gold-domed NH State House in Concord on Thursday, January 5.  There are two bills pertaining to the unborn:  One will be heard at 1:30pm the other at 2:00pm.   Please support HB1649 outlined here.  Even if you cannot testify, you are asked to call on your NH State Reps to support HB-1649: http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/ie/whosmyleg/

Join us on Saturday February 4 to oppose Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion "provider" in the nation.  They teach youth about sex, sell them abortifacients (wrongly called contraceptives) and then tempt women with human pesticide drugs or surgical abortions.  They enjoy massive government funding, many corporate sponsors, frequent access to high schools, and even funding through certain United Way programs.   Please keep the pressure on the Planned Parenthood shell-game operation and pray for the day they have to hold bake-sales for their so-called "charity".   Join us Saturday, February 4, 10am to Noon at the intersection of Elm and Pennacook Street (behind the Rite Aid).  This is a couple blocks south of the Amoskeag Bridge on the East side of the Merrimack.    To see what these events are like, go to:

  • New President for NH Right to Life: Darlene Pawlik

On November 11, the NHRTL Trustees elected Darlene Pawlik of Raymond, NH as the new NHRTL President.  Darlene has been very active in pro-life ministry for years.  She has earnestly worked on past March for Life events, NHRTL Picnics, abortuary witnessing initiatives, and similar ministries.   Some will recognize her as a prolific letter-to-the-editor author.  She is talented at engaging new volunteers into pro-life work, and she has been a liason to other conservative organizations for NHRTL.  Darlene served as a NHRTL Trustee during 2005.  She and her husband Mark have 5 children.  Darlene welcomes messages sent to life@nhrtl.org or routed to the NHRTL offices at 603.626.7950.

  • NHRTL  Annual  Member's  Meeting  Results
On November 11, members elected several trustees to become part of the 15 member team:
Mary Ann O'NeillBill Currier,   Dan Hogan,  Janet Fielding,   and  Dr. Robert Kaladish were elected into the 3 year terms.   Nancy Nobile and Joanne Rivard were elected into 1 year Alternate Trustee positions.    Some trustees were not up for election because their 3-year terms are still in progress:  Betty Breuder, Rep. Kathy Souza, Dan Genneralli, Roland Nobile, John Murphy, Warren Goddard, Richard Lalmond, Darlene Pawlik, John Grzesik, and Jim Rioux.

The newly formed board proceeded to elect officers of the NHRTL BoardDarlene Pawlik as President, Betty Breuder as Vice-President, Warren Goddard as Chairman, Richard Lalmond as Treasurer, and John Murphy as Secretary.    Jim Rioux was confirmed as Educational Trust Chairman.  Former Board president Ed Holdgate declined to run for a trusteeship, but was confirmed as NHRTL Political Action Committee Chairman.

A big thank you and congratulations to the many volunteers serving in these roles.

    • Conducted several unique undercover investigations of abortion clinics.

    • Exposed the practice of abortion clinics selling the body parts of aborted babies.

    • Documented how Planned Parenthood and other clinics conceal child rape situations.

    This banquet also featured:

Some 175 NH pro-lifers heard Mark's powerful "inside-baseball" report on the state of pro-life progress, and tips for pro-life work now.   Mark graciously provided attendees with copies of his new book,  On Message - The Pro-Life Handbook  and DVD copies of his popular LifeTalk program.   A big thank you goes out to Mark, and all those who volunteered or sponsored this event.

  • Every Thursday pro-life witness to abortionist Wayne Goldner
Dedicated NH pro-lifers have consistently witnessed against the practices of abortionist Wayne Goldner.  He is by far the most vocal and belligerent abortionist in New Hampshire, so Jeannie Szulc leads a protest at his offices every Thursday from 2pm to 3pm. 150 Terry Town Road, Manchester.   Recently, a woman stopped to report that her granddaughter is alive and well, and thanked Jeannie for her faithful witness that helped change the mind of the abortion-bound mother.  Bring your own signs our use some of ours to implore women not to succumb to the taunting invitations of this abortionist Wayne Goldner.

  • Parents By-Passed:  Abortion Drugs for Teenagers Available
SB-30 was signed into law by pro-abortion Gov. John Lynch, rendering the abortifacient drug (egregiously called the "emergency contraception" or "morning-after" pill) available without a prescription.   Even minors will be able to get it without any need for parental consent or notification.   This new law is a consequence of the last election, so please remember this next time you vote.

  • Republican Leader Found as Paid Lobbyist for Abortion Drug Co.
During the battle over SB-30, a leading Republican on the NHGOP Executive Committee was discovered to be a paid lobbyist for Barr Laboratories / Barr Pharmaceuticals -- makers of the Plan-B abortifacient drug.   NHRTL sought the resignation, firing, or at least "censure" of Maura Weston by the NHGOP due to the conflict of interest from simultaneously helping lead the (professing) pro-life NHGOP  (see the pro-life plank in the platform) while she was also being paid to promote the multi-billion dollar abortifacient drug company.   A letter (Acrobat Reader PDF or MS-Word) was presented in person by NHRTL to the Republican Executive Committee.  No one on the NHGOP Executive Committee made a motion after over an hour of "discussion" on the subject, so nothing came of it.  Pro-life voters will want consider this offense to pro-lifers before deciding to donate money to the Republican Party.  Many earnest pro-lifers donate money only to trusted, documented, pro-life candidates.

  • NHRTL Applauds US Supreme Court Attention
On May 23,2005, NHRTL issued a press release when news arrived that the US Supreme Court would hear the case about the NH pro-life "parental notification" (not consent!) law passed by the NH House, NH Senate, and signed by then Gov. Craig Benson.   To date, the activist courts have stopped implementation of the law but in the fall the US Supreme Court will listen to an appeal led by NH Atty General Kelly Ayotte.   Read the whole NHRTL Press Release in Acrobat PDF here.   Obviously these endeavors cost money, so donations to NHRTL would be dearly appreciated.
